Makita Tool Box Clasp

Makita Tool Box Clasp

Constantly espousing my love of 3D printing had clearly sunk in when one of mates brought me a snapped clasp from his tool box and asked if I could replace it. Naturally I didn’t make any promises but said I’d give it a go.

The original clasp

Following my normal process, I measured this part and modeled it fairly quickly - fully expecting to go through a two or three iterations before getting the right fit. Not this time though because it worked perfectly the first time around.

It’s a shame really because I would’ve gone for a nicer finish! If it breaks i’ll use the opportunity to improve it and print a nicer looking version too… maybe a matching logo as well?
