Laser Blower Mounting Clip
The small metal clip used to hold the blower in place on the Kern HSE400 laser at work broke due to repeated bumps on the work pieces. Rather than wait for an interstate or international order of a replacement, it was just as easy to print a replacement that can easily be printed again as required. As the part is printed from an inherently weaker material, it has been thickened for additional strength.
3D printing provides a lot of benefit on the factory floor allowing for a whole range of custom augmentations and repairs. The ability to produce complex and accurate geometry quickly and at a low cost can have a huge impact on productivity. Don’t be surprised if most factories have one in the next few years.
